The following test will help you understand how you are breathing.

    Step 1 - Breathing Checklist
    Step 2 - Breath-hold Test
    To complete the breath-hold test, please sit in a comfortable position. You will need a timing device or you can count seconds. Please follow these instructions:
    1. Take a normal breath in and out.
    2. At the end of the exhale pinch your nose and ensure your mouth is closed.
    3. Hold your breath until you get the very first sign of wanting to breathe. Please do not do a maximum breath-hold.
    4. End the breath-hold and note the amount of time it took from when you started the breath-hold until you stopped it. This is your breath-hold time.
